Our Story

Since meeting in 2003, Allison and Melissa have come full circle. They were sitting side by side in a study group in their Master’s program. And now, fifteen years later they reconnected as adjunct professors teaching the Career Counseling course at NYU.

 

Most Career Coaches have one area of expertise: they’ve only worked as recruiters or they’ve only worked as career coaches or they have only working in corporations. But Melissa and Allison have all three.

 

Melissa and Allison’s backgrounds mean you are completely covered by their areas of expertise. Who We Are

Allison Samtur

Allison currently works at NYU Stern as a Consultant in the Office of Career Development and in Stern’s MBA Admissions Office where she interviews prospective students (she knows the secrets to acing an interview!). Allison’s experience working as a Recruiter and in Business Development for top global companies including J. Walter Thompson, Johnson & Johnson, and Estee Lauder, as well as 15+ years of experience working as a Career Coach for top tier business schools including NYU Stern and Yale, give her the inside knowledge and expertise to propel her clients forward in their careers. Most recently, Allison served as an Adjunct Professor at NYU Steinhardt teaching the Career Counseling course.

Allison has specialized training in career assessment tools including CareerLeader, CliftonStrengths, PRINT, Myers Briggs, DiSC, Strong Interest Inventory, Skillscan Knowdell CardSort. She also co-developed an MBA self-assessment tool called CareerCompass which was utilized by NYU Stern.

Allison holds a Master’s Degree with honors in Counseling Psychology from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Counseling from Boston University. Allison lives in Westchester with her husband, two children and Havanese puppy. She’s a Peloton fanatic, a Girl Scout troop leader, and a travel soccer team manager.

Melissa Iglio

Melissa Iglio, M.A., is a Leadership and Organizational Development Consultant and Executive and Career Coach. She maintains an active private practice working with individuals, teams, and companies in the areas of career management, executive coaching, leadership development, and training. Previously, Melissa held senior leadership roles in academic and student engagement at Columbia Business School and NYU’s Stern School of Business where she coached, taught, and designed and developed experiential learning curriculums in leadership and social impact.

Melissa earned her certification in Executive and Organizational Professional Coaching from Columbia University. She holds a Master’s Degree with honors in Counseling Psychology from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. She is certified in a wide range of career and leadership assessment tools and is a member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), International Coaching Federation (ICF), the Association for Talent Development (ATD) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Melissa lives in NYC. She’s a runner and triathlete (she swam in the Hudson for the NYC Triathlon and doesn’t recommend it). In her free time she’s the Training Group Lead at the Junior League of New York and was previously the Co-Chair of the Community Program Committees. When not traveling or in NYC, Melissa can be found on the beaches of Rincon, Puerto Rico.

Grace Y. Lin

Grace Y. Lin is a former Fortune 500 Corporate Executive who made the notable decision over a decade ago, to invest in the growth of people rather than the bottom line. Now in private practice as a Licensed Behavioral Therapist, she combines her innate analytical skills with a strong understanding of motivational and behavioral psychology, to produce results for her clients.

As someone who has experienced corporate recruiting from all angles – post college, MBA grad, hiring manager, business division lead, career changer, and business owner – Grace has both first hand experience in what it takes to get hired, but more importantly, a deep understanding of why candidates struggle. She is so excited to share her insights with you, and confident in CAG’s ability to drive life changing results.

Grace holds an M.B.A from The Wharton Business School, a Master’s Degree with honors in Counseling Psychology from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Economics from the University of California – Berkeley. She lives in Westchester, NY with her husband, 3 kids, and a COVID puppy.
